Alternative Medicine – Back from the Beginning of Time

Today more and more people are concerned about their health and it is finally taking a front seat to years of living the fast life and not caring what we put in our body. The term what you put into your body has never meant more to those of us that have let ourselves go. Healthy living, healthy foods and natural foods and products as well as natural medicine are the key words in today vocabulary.

When looking at natural foods and healthy living go hand in hand but make sure you read your labels as wording, all natural and healthy, are not always used in the correct context and can be misleading. Staying on the outside isles of the supermarket is most times your best bet and will help you stay on track to healthier living.

When thinking about healthy living and natural medicine it use to be spoke on the hush hush like it would be a voodoo Dr working on you. But with herbs, and natural medicine become the new trend we have to review the different natural medicine options like yoga, acupuncture, and acupressure and chiropractics.

It has not been to many years since Chiropractics has been accepted by most Dr offices and even hospitals. Since then it seems giant stride have been made in the mind of the public in accepting non invasive, natural medicine choices and bringing back to the forefront what has never left but has been keep in the back ground by modern medicine until lately.

With yoga, acupressure and acupuncture I have learned that they work very closely the on the same plain. They all work behind the scenes on the nerves, muscles and brain as a big network of roads and corridors talking to each other.

If your problems are allergies, immune system, or something like falling asleep Holistic medicine is your best medicine. There are so many things you can take care of from general health to pain relief and fears to stress management Holistic medicine soothes all these problems and much much more.

My first exposure to acupuncture and acupressure was when I had been having headaches for almost a year with me being in bed for weeks. A friend suggested I try her Dr. I asked her if the Dr was a headache specialist. She said well…., yes, you could say that. I of course questioned her more but she just keep saying, “you have nothing to lose”. I agreed and went.

I was introduced to acupuncture that day. I was already getting a headache and the Dr. refused to let me go until she had taken care of my headache. She did, as it was early in the headache she made relatively short work of it. I wasn’t really impressed but not totally sold. I went to her, as a walk in no less, and they took me right away. This time the headache was full on and I probably should not have driven at all. She tried a acupuncture and managed to lessen the headache and asked me to get dressed and she put me into another office. Soon another person came into the room and spoke with me. Asked me a little more about my headaches and asked me if he could try something. Again, I was there and what did I have to lose? Can you believe I sat there and he had this little tool and he was putting pressure on my fingers of all places. Well, wasn’t I surprised when within 5 minutes, no lying, 5 minutes I was headache free. WOW! Will it last? Yes he says. And it did. This was a headache that could have lasted a week or longer.

It has been 4 years now. I go regularly, but I am or was always sick. I am just an individual and of course everyone is different, but I am a regular person now. I go to my new Dr. for everything from pain on my broken hand to just some help healing after my gallbladder removed. I am a true believer and you can be to. Get your ‘CHI’ on and try Acupressure or one of the other great ways you can help yourself with natural healing and health, I did and will never go back.
